Stable block, later cottages to Law Hill House. Late C18. Hammer-dressed stone, stone slate roof. 2 storeys to main facade. Attic in gable end which is monumentally treated with bands and largely blocked Venetian window in apex. This and round headed doorway have impost blocks and keystone. The main front has a similar doorway and stair window above, the later with Gothic glazing bars. One 4-light flat faced mullioned window survives and others blocked. After 1825 it was converted into a school for young ladies. Emily Bronte taught here 1837/8 and mentions the building in her writings. D.
