Married James Sutcliffe Smith in 1942, they didn’t have any  children. Dorothy was secretary to Leslie Blackburn at Tower Works, a mill on Market Street. She was a close friend of Eileen Longbottom and great aunt of Graham Smith. Her grave is in the lower section of the chapel yard. </text>
