Four public pumps stood in Heptonstall. This is one of the few surviving and best preserved in Yorkshire.

Opened in 1854 the 'new' church was dedicated to St Thomas the Apostle. This photo shows it before the church was re-ordered. Work had begun on re-ordering the church in 1960 and was completed in 1964.

The ancient Pace Eggs plays were performed in Heptonstall and Hebden Bridge on Good Fridays. The practice has been re-introduced in Hebden Bridge by pupils from Calder High School with an adult caste in Heptonstall. Both draw large crowds.

This building was demolished in 1963 and replaced by a more modern village hall, which in turn was demolished and the site is now occupied by houses.
