Title
Sand Sculpture - PAK00481
Description
Yorkshire based sand artist Jamie Wardley and the Sand In Your Eye Team created a 10 tonne sand sculpture in the courtyard at Hebden Royd Town Hall in August 2014. The piece was entitled ‘Loss is Eternal’ and depicts the moment when the wife of a soldier opens a letter, common during WW1, with the words.
WE REGRET TO INFORM YOU YOUR HUSBAND HAS BEEN KILLED IN ACTION
Jamie returned to the sculpture on a couple of ocassions to ‘age’ the lady, and she stayed in the courtyard until mid November when she succumbed to the weather.
