At the end of Valley Road in Hebden Bridge, this was a well loved shop in the town for many years and supplied the wallpaper and paint for many of its residents.
Bridge Mill with a fire engine obviously attending an incident. The telephone box is long gone, as is the road sign, but the mill is now used for a number of different businesses.
A view of the town from Birchcliffe, the newness of the steps and the landscaping below the wall suggest the photo may have been taken shortly after the changes to the road below.
Hope Chapel on the left and the Picture House on the right. Trinity Garage just visible centre right. The bus shelter is long gone, replaced with newer public conveniences. Note the lack of traffic!
